Code of Conduct
1. By signing the membership form all members agree to observe the rules as to the use of the Te Kauwhata Community Fitness Centre, and will observe the directions of the Manger and Committee;
2. Members and their guests and families shall ensure their conduct is always proper, seemly and decorous, and shall not unreasonably interfere with the use and enjoyment of the Centre by other Members;
3. There shall be no animals, smoking or eating within the Centre;
4. DO NOT LET OTHER PEOPLE IN THE DOOR, IF THEY DO NOT HAVE A WORKING KEY TAG, THEY CANNOT ENTER THE GYM, IF YOU ARE CAUGHT LETTING OTHERS INTO THE GYM EITHER A FINE OR SUSPENSION WILL BE APPLIED.
5. Users shall not deposit or leave litter in the Centre except in the bins provided, and to ensure the Centre is left in a tidy condition by leaving the floor clear of equipment & bathroom floors clean & dry.
6. Any damage caused to the Centre shall immediately be reported to the Manager, and the cost of making good such damage shall be borne by the member responsible;
7. All lights are to be switched off including the gymnasium and hall, when you leave the centre;
8. All windows and doors are to be closed and locked, fans are to be switched off on leaving;
9. Any member bringing guests into the Centre shall be responsible for their conduct and ensure they abide by these rules;
10. Guests are required to sign in upon arrival and their fee is to be enclosed in the envelopes provided and deposited in the casual use slot in the wall by the office. $8.00 fee applies. It is the responsibility of the members to ensure this occurs;
11. Due to age restrictions in the Fitness centre children under 13 are not permitted to use any fitness equipment. Children who are part of a family membership and are aged between 13 & 15 can use the equipment only with the supervision of the parent or an adult over 20 years of age, they are not allowed in the centre on their own;
12. No guests under 16 are permitted in the Fitness Studio unless prior permission has been sought via letter and granted by the Centre Manager;
13. Soft soled shoes must be always worn in the Fitness Studio.
14. Any children brought to the Centre while parents are working out are to be strictly supervised at all times;
15. Member access key tags are not to be used by any persons other than the paying individual for Individual Memberships, or allocated family members for Family Memberships. Any abuse of this will be considered by the Committee, and may result in confiscation of the tag, thereby forfeiting your membership;
16. A replacement fee of $35 will be charged for replacement tags, a $15 reactivation fee will be charged if membership has lapsed for more than 14 days;
17. Members or their guests and families will NOT be permitted in the pool area outside of staffed hours;
18. Members will have a 2 day grace period after your membership expiry date. Failing to make payment within this timeframe will activate a suspension of your key tag. Once payment has been received access will be reinstated. If you membership has lapsed for more than 2 weeks a key reactivation fee of $15 will be charged.
19. Members can use the turf and gymnasium outside of school hours and outside booked classes.
20. Automatic payments: monthly members; agree by signing the registration form that payments will be made on time each month. Deactivation of key tag will be done if payment is not made.
21. Direct Debit: weekly members; agree by signing the registration form that payments will be made each week on time. Deactivation of key tag will be done if payment is not made. Debit success also charges a $14.95 default fee for any missed payment.
22. You can cancel your weekly or monthly anytime via email to admin@tkfitness.co.nz If you do not cancel you will continue to be billed regardless of the number of times you are using the gym.
23. Members are responsible to check for hazards – if you find any broken/damaged equipment or anything you consider a hazard. Please remove the item or switch it off. report any hazards to the centre manager immediately, if outside of staffed hours email admin@tkfitness.co.nz to report hazard.
Disclaimer & Penalties for Infringement of Rules
In the event of an infringement of these rules, tag holders will be subject to whatever reasonable discipline may be considered by the Committee.
The Committee and Management of the Te Kauwhata Health Awareness Society Inc. shall not be liable for any loss or injury sustained within the Te Kauwhata Community Fitness Centre to any Member, their guests, or families.
Please formularize yourself with the evacuation process – in the event of an evacuation meet at the top of the path by the road.
